Arman Tsarukyan's Latest Adventure: A Playful Rear-Naked Choke Attempt on an Alligator

Mixed martial arts fighter Arman Tsarukyan continues to capture attention with his larger-than-life activities outside the octagon. While awaiting his next UFC bout, Tsarukyan has maintained an active presence, having competed only once since his split decision victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 in April 2024.

Initially slated to challenge then-lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 in January 2025, Tsarukyan was forced to withdraw due to an injury during fight week. Since then, he has kept busy on the grappling circuit, participating in numerous wrestling and submission matches across various promotions globally.

Among his diverse pursuits, the 29-year-old Armenian also secured a submission victory against Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last November. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, he has already competed four times outside the major MMA promotion. Beyond competitive engagements, Tsarukyan has cultivated a strong social media presence, sharing extravagant food experiences and appearing on various online streams, significantly boosting his public profile.

His latest memorable exploit involved an interaction with a formidable reptile. Tsarukyan recently took his series of daring adventures to a new level by attempting a playful "choke" on an alligator.

Arman Tsarukyan Attempts To Submit Real Alligator

During a recent live stream at Everglades Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale, Tsarukyan ventured into an alligator enclosure. The UFC lightweight contender was seen sitting on the back of the giant reptile and even humorously asked about applying a rear-naked choke.

Despite assurances from park staff regarding safety, Tsarukyan prudently decided against placing his arm close to the alligator’s powerful jaws. Instead, he playfully mimicked the choke for entertainment. The alligator was carefully managed by nearby trainers while the MMA fighter comically simulated riding it, adding to the spectacle.

Arman Tsarukyan is now scheduled to face former UFC veteran Urijah Faber in the co-main event of RAF 08 on April 18, an event set to take place at the Liacouras Center at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
