Nikola Jokic Crowned Greatest ABA League Player of All Time

Over the past 25 years, the ABA League has seen 2,352 players grace its courts. Among them, Nikola Jokic has ascended to extraordinary heights, establishing himself as the preeminent basketball talent of his generation. After a remarkable two-season stint with Mega, where he secured both the MVP and Best Young Player awards in the ABA League, Jokic transitioned to the NBA in 2015. There, he continues to redefine the limits of the game and forge his legacy.

In recognition of his exceptional achievements, Jokic was honored with the ABA League's most prestigious accolade: the ABA League Icon award. Expressing his gratitude via video message, Jokic stated, "I want to thank everyone for this recognition. It means a tremendous amount to me, as I grew up with this league, played in it, and followed it from a young age. Many talented players have competed in the ABA League over the years, and some still play today. Receiving this distinction is therefore very important to me. I believe that awards like this will hold even greater value once my career is over, when I reflect on everything I've accomplished, but it is certainly a great honor. Thank you very much."

Nikola Jokic garnered an impressive 94.3% of the votes. Following him in the rankings are Dejan Milojević (92.3%), Bogdan Bogdanović (80.4%), Nikola Peković (78.9%), Dario Šarić (72.7%), Goran Dragić (67.1%), Nikola Vučević (66.3%), Jan Vesely (62.7%), Jaka Lakovič (59.7%), and Miloš Teodosić (59.4%).

The selection of these top players was determined by a combined voting process involving recipients of the ABA League Coach of the Year award, ABA League Regular Season MVP awardees, as well as votes from media representatives and fans.
