Movsar Evloev Dismisses Jean Silva's Title Shot Claims as 'Lies'

UFC featherweight contender Movsar Evloev has responded to recent claims made by Jean Silva. Silva, known as “Lord,” recently stated that he is slated to face two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski next. He further alleged that UFC executives Hunter Campbell and Dana White invited him to UFC London specifically to sign the fight contract post-event.

Observations from UFC London showed Silva interacting with Campbell, appearing to hand over documents.

In the same vein, Movsar Evloev, the top-ranked UFC featherweight contender, solidified his bid for a title opportunity by securing a majority decision victory over Lerone Murphy last Saturday. Following his win, the undefeated Russian fighter was questioned about Silva's audacious claims during the post-fight press conference.

Evloev directly refuted Silva's assertion, stating, “He is just lying [that he’s going to get the next title shot].”

Manager Applauds Evloev's Evolved Fighting Style

Prior to UFC London, Movsar Evloev's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, had emphasized the importance of a finish against Lerone Murphy to secure a subsequent title shot. Despite not achieving a knockout or submission, Evloev delivered an engaging performance. He strategically deviated from his characteristic wrestling-dominant style, opting instead to engage in striking exchanges with the formidable knockout artist Murphy throughout much of their 25-minute bout.

Abdelaziz later took to social media to commend Evloev, highlighting the UFC's satisfaction with his recent showing: “The game has changed for all young fighters. Winning alone is not enough anymore. It’s about how you fight, how you make a statement, and how you show that you are a complete fighter. That’s exactly what Movsar did on Saturday night. One thing I can tell you is that everyone is happy. The UFC is happy, and they’ve been very complimentary about his performance for the first time, and I’m very grateful.”
