Arman Tsarukyan Opens Up on Relationship with UFC Boss Dana White
UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan has recently shed light on his professional relationship with UFC President Dana White.
Tsarukyan has been very vocal about his aspirations for a shot at the UFC lightweight championship. However, it's widely known that Dana White has not expressed strong approval for Tsarukyan recently, partly due to certain actions the fighter has engaged in outside of his octagon performances.
As the lightweight division prepares for a significant bout at UFC Freedom 250, where Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje are set to unify the lightweight crown, Tsarukyan finds himself on the sidelines. He remains uncertain whether he will need to secure another victory before challenging for the belt or if he should simply wait for a direct call for a title opportunity.
In a recent translated interview with Red Corner MMA, Arman Tsarukyan spoke transparently about his perspective on his interactions with White.
Arman Tsarukyan Clarifies Communication Channels Within UFC
"I'm unsure why Dana might speak negatively about me, but personally, I have no issues with him nor any behind-the-scenes conflicts," Tsarukyan stated. "There's no particular reason for me to address him directly because I don't engage in negotiations with him."
"My discussions are with Hunter Campbell, as he is responsible for matchmaking. Dana likely just gives final approval for fight-related decisions. The actual matchmakers are Sean Shelby and Hunter, which is why I have nothing to say to Dana. I need to request a fight from Hunter, and we actually spoke this morning, and he provided me with a date for my upcoming fight."
Despite varying opinions on Arman, it's widely acknowledged that his in-cage performances have undeniably earned him the right to contend for the championship. His next move will be closely watched. Tsarukyan has also hinted at a potential rematch with Charles Oliveira for the BMF title. However, considering the outcome of Charles's bout against Max Holloway, the UFC might be hesitant to put the BMF strap on the line in such a matchup.
The 155-pound division is renowned for its roster of elite fighters, a trend that shows every sign of continuing well into the future.
