Girard révèle avoir proposé son aide au club lors de son départ – non pas pour entraîner ou manager, mais pour donner un avis sportif – conscient du manque d'experts en basketball parmi les actionnaires et dirigeants. "Je pensais que ça pouvait les intéresser, a priori non. Le président a souhaité tourner la page, ça a été fait. On s’est juste revus une seule fois quand ils ont écarté Kenny Grant."
