The Nashville Predators have advanced in their general manager search, commencing in-person interviews with several candidates. While the team was reportedly denied permission to speak with Carolina Hurricanes GM Eric Tulsky, they did secure an interview with one of his assistants.

Among the individuals believed to have interviewed or being considered are Brett Peterson, assistant general manager for the Florida Panthers; Scott White, assistant general manager for the Dallas Stars; and Bill Scott, assistant general manager for the Edmonton Oilers.

A new name surfacing in connection with the Predators' search is Darren York, who currently serves as the general manager for the Chicago Wolves, the Carolina Hurricanes' AHL affiliate. York, who has been with the Wolves for 17 years, reportedly had an in-person visit with the Predators, marking a previously unconfirmed development in the ongoing GM hunt.

Kade O’Rourke Seeks Exceptional Status for OHL Entry

In other hockey news, attention was drawn to Kade O’Rourke, a promising young player for the Toronto Junior Canadians, during the recent OHL Cup final, which was won by Detroit HoneyBaked. The 15-year-old, originally from Texas but having moved to Toronto four years ago, is generating significant buzz.

O’Rourke has reportedly applied for exceptional status to enter the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) a year early. While Hockey Canada typically refrains from confirming such applications, sources close to the situation suggest that O'Rourke is widely considered ready for the advanced competition.

This application is particularly notable as no "pure-bred" American player has ever been granted exceptional status in the OHL; previous recipients, like Sean Day, held dual citizenship. With the OHL draft scheduled for June 12th, the league is believed to be keenly interested in having O'Rourke join, recognizing his potential as a significant draw and talent.
