Orléans Basketball Club Poised for American Investment
Orléans Loiret Basket may be on the cusp of a significant transformation. A municipal council meeting scheduled for Monday, April 13th, will determine the fate of the club's sale to a consortium of three American investors: Ben Jenkins, Matt Hong, and Jamie Zaninovich. Several of their associated companies operate within the sports industry, as initially reported by ICI.
This prospective acquisition could provide OLB with "additional financial capabilities to achieve its objectives." These ambitions are clearly defined and substantial: the club aims to return to the Betclic Élite league and compete in European tournaments.
To facilitate this, the entity controlled by the three businessmen is expected to acquire 45% of the club's shares. The initial investment is projected to be €450,000. A licensing agreement is also slated for ratification, which could inject €1.2 million into the club by the end of 2026.
