Saint-Quentin (SQBB) found themselves in a precarious position during their game in Poitiers, with the absence of Eddie Ekiyor due to an ankle injury and an unfortunate incident involving Elijah Clarance. Clarance sustained a heavy fall on his back in the first quarter and had to be taken to the hospital.
Poitiers secured the victory, with key contributions from Marcus Hammond, who scored 21 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. Jordan Ratton also played a crucial role with 14 points and an efficiency rating of 20, alongside Narcisse Ngoy, who added 8 points and 8 rebounds.
Reflecting on the game, Neftali Difuidi of L’Aisne Nouvelle stated, “With all due respect to Poitiers, we have to win Game 2, and then we’ll need to come back and win here on Sunday. Congratulations to them. But we froze the ball in the second half. We didn’t show our level, even though we managed to do so at times.”
