He also questioned if the asking price for Wallstedt was simply too high for any team to meet.

Pagnotta believed no deal for Wallstedt came particularly close. He elaborated that if the Wild were to make a significant trade, it would likely be for a top-six forward, possibly a legitimate second-line center. He cited their previous interest in Vincent Trocheck as an example, though that pursuit ultimately fell through.
