The long-anticipated leadership change at L’Élan Chalon has been officially confirmed this Friday. Rodolphe Galland, a former player from the club’s youth academy and the driving force behind the Élan 360 brand, will succeed Vincent Bergeret. Galland is already familiar with the team, currently managed by Elric Delord.
The businessman, who manages several France Pare-Brise locations, is actively involved in preparing for the upcoming season. He acknowledges the significant challenge ahead, as stated in a press release from the club:
‘L’Elan Chalon is much more than just a basketball club. It’s a key player in the region, a living institution. I accept this responsibility with pride and humility, fully aware of what this club represents for Chalon and for the entire Saône-et-Loire department.’
Bergeret: Symbol of L’Élan’s Revival
Vincent Bergeret took the helm at a critical juncture for the club, during its relegation to Pro B and the departure of the iconic Dominique Julliot. Under his presidency, Bergeret has been instrumental in revitalizing Chalon. Not only did the club return to the Betclic Élite league, but it also made a comeback to European competitions, notably reaching the second round of the BCL this year.
