Napoli and Inter Target Key Como Players
Napoli is reportedly keen on acquiring two key players from Como, goalkeeper Jean Butez and midfielder Maximo Perrone. However, convincing Como to part with their integral talents might prove challenging. Inter Milan also holds an interest in Perrone, viewing him as a potential successor to Hakan Calhanoglu.
Despite already possessing two capable starting goalkeepers, Napoli's manager Antonio Conte is said to be highly impressed by Butez's comprehensive abilities. As reported by Il Mattino, Butez would become Napoli's primary goalkeeping target should either Vanja Milinkovic-Savic or Alex Meret depart during the summer transfer window.
Tuttomercatoweb suggests that Butez is likely to remain at Como. After previous stints at Lille, Mouscron, and Royal Antwerp, he has established himself well by the lake and is even a contender for France's World Cup squad. Interestingly, Como already appears to have a successor in mind, having signed Noel Tornqvist from Myallby last summer, with his arrival completed in winter.
Beyond Butez, Napoli is also closely monitoring Maximo Perrone, who is a significant target for both them and Inter, as per Matteo Moretto (via Calciomercato). Perrone would be considered the primary replacement if Stanislav Lobotka were to leave, though Napoli might pursue him regardless.
Inter finds itself in a comparable situation, with contract extension negotiations for Hakan Calhanoglu stalled and Galatasaray actively pursuing him. Meanwhile, Como boasts a strong financial standing. They invested €13 million to sign Perrone from Manchester City, who retain a 30 percent sell-on clause.
Our Assessment of the Situation
Perrone, the Argentine midfielder, is considered an excellent prospect for clubs seeking a young deep-lying playmaker. However, Como is unlikely to readily sell him, as he is one of their most valued assets. Securing the goalkeeper, Butez, might prove to be a more achievable transfer.
