Nigeria's D'Tigress Reveals Roster with Three Familiar Faces for Upcoming Clashes, Including France
Coach Rena Wakama has retained 11 players from the squad that secured a historic fifth consecutive Women's AfroBasket title in Abidjan, where they triumphed over Mali in the final.
The three most impactful players featured in the lineup are Murjanatu Musa (1.87 m, 25 years old), Amy Okonkwo (1.88 m, 29 years old), and Ezinne Kalu (1.73 m, 33 years old).
Murjanatu Musa, after her tenure with Tarbes, currently plays for Basket Landes and is recognized as one of the top players in the EuroLeague. Amy Okonkwo has previously played for Saint-Amand, Landerneau, and Bourges. Both she and Ezinne Kalu, who spent three seasons with Landerneau, were born in the United States.
Nigeria's campaign is scheduled to begin on March 11 against Colombia, followed by a match against South Korea the very next day. After a short break, the D'Tigress will face the Philippines on March 14, France on March 15, and Germany on March 17.
