C’Chartres Métropole Basket has announced a significant leadership change, with head coach Franck Le Goff and general manager Milan Vasic being suspended from their roles. The decision comes as the team currently ranks 11th out of 14 in the Nationale 1 lower pool, holding a record of 6 wins and 13 losses.
Franck Le Goff had joined Chartres on December 28th, stepping in as the replacement for Guillaume Le Pape. He is widely recognized for his extensive experience, having served as Pascal Donnadieu’s assistant at Nanterre from 2006 to 2021. Following his tenure at Nanterre, Le Goff coached Levallois in both the NM1 and NM2 leagues.
“Facing both the sporting and extra-sporting situation, C’Chartres Métropole Basket informs you of the suspension of their coach, Franck Le Goff, and general manager, Milan Vasic,” stated Yves Paris, president of C’Chartres Métropole Basket. “In this context, and with the desire to prepare the future of the club, the management has decided to entrust the first team’s coaching to Abgué Barakaou for the remainder of the season.”
Abgué Barakaou will receive support in sports management from Théo Faure, Yohann Meyniel, and Dejan Sencanski, working in close coordination with the club’s administration. Their immediate mission is to “remobilize the group and unite the players as they approach the final seven matches of this second phase, which are crucial for the club’s survival in the league.”
