The captain of Hull City Football Club, Lewie Coyle, along with his brother and teammate Rocco Coyle, were reportedly involved in a public street fight outside a pub.

Video footage circulating online appears to show the Championship team`s 29-year-old captain, Lewie Coyle, who is shirtless, being pulled away from an argument by his 18-year-old brother, Rocco, in the centre of Hull yesterday evening.

Reports also suggest that the captain was accompanied by another brother, a former professional boxer, at the scene outside the Empress pub around 8 pm.

A witness, who recorded the incident from a bus while heading home, stated that traffic had to stop because the disturbance had moved onto the road.

The fight was observed near Alfred Gelder Street, and the video shows at least a dozen people involved.

The witness, a Hull resident who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It all happened yesterday at around 8 pm in the city centre of Hull. I was just on my way home when I saw lots of people fighting. At the time I wasn`t aware it was Lewie Coyle – I saw him being pushed by his brother.”

The witness added that the bus halted because the fight had spilled into the middle of the street, blocking both sides of the road.

The source did not know the reason for the confrontation but noted that “lots of people” were involved.

As the camera pans back to the scene, a man can be seen with blood on his face, surrounded by other men.

This violent altercation reportedly began after bank holiday drinks at the nearby pub.

It later emerged that the fight originated inside the pub during an argument between the Coyle brothers and rugby league player James Sizer from Norland Sharks.

CCTV footage shows the fight starting inside the pub before moving out onto the street.

Friends of James Sizer stated that he was hospitalised following the incident with a significant cut on his forehead. He was kept in hospital overnight, needed multiple stitches for his wound, and underwent a CT scan to check for any potential lasting brain damage.

A source commented on the pub`s CCTV: “The CCTV that has been released in the pub is only a fraction of what went on. Fans will be shocked when they see everything that happened. Suddenly the whole pub seemed to be brawling. It was like something out of the Wild West.”

Hull City Football Club has acknowledged the video and confirmed they are investigating the matter.

The club released a statement saying: “Hull City is aware of a video currently circulating on social media and has launched an investigation into the matter. The club will refrain from making further comment until the investigation has been concluded.”

Hull City recently secured their survival in the Championship on the final day, drawing 1-1 with Portsmouth.

After the match, Lewie Coyle admitted it had been a “difficult year” but expressed pride in his team and gratitude for the support received.

He told ITV: “It`s been a difficult year for us this year. We`ve been at the other end of the table, which is not where we want to be. We`ve suffered a lot this year, at times. A lot of it is down to our own doing. We have to take responsibility as players, we`ve not been good enough at times.”

“I know exactly what that means to everyone inside that dressing room, and I couldn`t be more proud of the lads. When our backs were against the wall and the chips were down, I found out a lot about me and my teammates, and it`s made me very proud.”
