Jiri Prochazka Lashes Out at Carlos Ulberg for “Pretender” Insult After UFC 327

MMA News

Jiri Prochazka has strongly refuted Carlos Ulberg’s characterization of him as a “pretender” following their UFC 327 bout.

Prochazka’s attempt to regain the light heavyweight title was unsuccessful, as he was dramatically knocked out by Ulberg in the main event of UFC 327 earlier this month.

Despite an apparent knee injury in the opening round, Prochazka couldn’t capitalize. He pushed the pace, but Ulberg shifted the momentum with a powerful left hand, leading to a ground-and-pound finish.

After the fight, Prochazka admitted to regretting his actions, suggesting he showed “mercy” to a compromised opponent, a decision he felt cost him the title. However, the newly crowned champion dismissed this claim as an excuse in a subsequent interview with Ariel Helwani, labeling Prochazka a “pretender.”

Jiri Prochazka has now responded sharply to these remarks.

Jiri Prochazka Addresses Carlos Ulberg’s “Pretender” Comments

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Prochazka retaliated against Ulberg’s “pretender” taunts, even referencing Ulberg’s past in the adult entertainment industry.

“I don’t want to hear this nonsense from someone who used to be a stripper,” Prochazka stated. “To respond to this in a humble way, we fighters are among the most unique individuals in the world. If anyone believes I carefully chose my words after the fight to imply I was showing mercy, first of all, I didn’t say that because Joe Rogan suggested it was mercy.”

Jiri Prochazka further asserted that he accepts the defeat without excuses and is focused on making a stronger comeback.

“Regarding what he’s saying now, congratulations, he’s the champion. He truly got me, and I accept that. But all these things he’s saying, about me playing games, perhaps I’m too old to play games. I want to be unique, I want to be genuine, and what he said was pure garbage. I have no excuses. I lost, I accept it, and I’m eager to get back to work.”
