Hapoel Tel Aviv vs. Hapoel Jerusalem Match Suspended Due to Air Raid Siren

Sports News

On Sunday evening, Israel experienced renewed missile attacks from Iran, leading to a ban on gatherings exceeding 500 people. Consequently, during the third quarter of the match between the two Hapoel teams, referees sent the players to the locker rooms and instructed spectators to evacuate the venue. The Hapoel Jerusalem players subsequently refused to return to the field.

“It is impossible to resume the match. We must keep the promises made to the players. They cannot focus on basketball at the moment; they must focus on their personal lives,” stated Yonatan Alon, the coach of Hapoel Jerusalem.

Journalist Noa Poplinger reported that some Hapoel Jerusalem players expressed a desire to fly out of Israel.
