Armoni Brooks Named MVP of the Italian League

The final standings for the individual awards at the LBA Awards 2026 were determined through a weighted average of votes cast by players from all Serie A clubs, coaches, a director from each club, a media panel, and fans. This comprehensive approach ensured a broad and representative evaluation of the entire season.

Armoni Brooks (EA7 Emporio Armani Milan) has been recognized as the Most Valuable Player.

The American guard, Armoni Brooks (1.88m, 27 years old), has a background that includes 84 NBA and G-League games before joining Milan in 2024. This season, he averaged 13.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in the Euroleague.

Other top contenders for the MVP award were Miro Bilan (Germani Brescia) and Amedeo Della Valle (Germani Brescia).

Best Italian Player

Amedeo Della Valle (Germain Brescia) secured the award for the Best Italian Player. Saliou Niang (Virtus Olidata Bologna) and Davide Casarin (Vanoli Basket Cremona) were also recognized.

Leandro Bolmaro (EA7 Emporio Armani Milan) earned the title of Best Defensive Player of the Year. Alessandro Pajola (Virtus Olidata Bologna) and Brianté Weber (Nutribullet Basket Treviso) were the other finalists.

Sixth Man of the Year

Jason Burnell (Germain Brescia) was awarded Sixth Man of the Year. Matt Morgan (Virtus Olidata Bologna) and Erick Green (Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù) were also strong contenders.

Most Improved Player of the Year

Davide Casarin (Vanoli Basket Cremona) received the award for Most Improved Player of the Year. Jason Burnell (Germain Brescia) and Giovanni Veronesi (Vanoli Basket Cremona) were recognized for their progress.

Coach of the Year

Dimitris Priftis (UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia) was named Coach of the Year. Matteo Cotelli (Germain Brescia) and Mario Fioretti (Bertram Derthona Tortona) were also in contention.

LBA Executive of the Year

Marco Sambugaro, General Manager of UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia, was voted LBA Executive of the Year by club executives. Federico Casarin (President of Umana Reyer Venezia) and Aldo Vanoli (President of Vanoli Basket Cremona) were also recognized.

LBA Sports Manager of the Year

Andrea Conti, General Manager of Vanoli Basket Cremona, was named LBA Sports Manager of the Year, as voted by club executives. Andrea Gracis (Sports Director of APU Old Wild West Udine) and Paolo Ronci (General Manager of Virtus Olidata Bologna) were also nominated.

LBA Referee of the Year

Manuel Attard was elected LBA Referee of the Year through votes from club representatives, including players, coaches, and executives. Guido Giovannetti and Michael Rossi were also acknowledged.
