West Bromwich Albion has announced the dismissal of head coach Tony Mowbray, effective immediately after a string of poor performances leading to the end of the season.
Mowbray`s second stint at The Hawthorns lasted only three months, after he rejoined the club in January.

His return followed Carlos Coberan`s departure for Valencia. However, the 61-year-old manager, who overcame bowel cancer last year, experienced a challenging period, securing only five victories in 17 games.
A disappointing conclusion to the season, marked by just one win in the last eight matches, saw West Brom`s playoff aspirations vanish as they dropped to tenth place in the league standings.
The final blow came with a 3-1 home defeat against Derby, who are battling to avoid relegation.
The club released a statement confirming Mowbray`s departure, along with assistant head coach Mark Venus.
“West Bromwich Albion has today parted company with head coach Tony Mowbray,” the statement read.
“Assistant head coach Mark Venus has also departed the club.”
The club expressed gratitude for their contributions, stating: “The club would like to place on record its thanks to Tony and Mark for their efforts – but has made the decision to part company following a series of poor results.”
Despite the recent downturn, the statement acknowledged their past achievements: “Tony and Mark will forever be welcome at The Hawthorns and their contributions to the club winning the 2007/08 Championship title will never be forgotten.”
Former West Brom player James Morrison, aged 38, will assume the role of interim manager for the remaining two games of the season.
Morrison will be supported by Damia Abella and former Baggies goalkeeper Boaz Myhill. Having represented the club 341 times as a player, Morrison has been part of the coaching staff since his retirement.
