UFC icon Conor McGregor has entered the booming energy drink market with his latest business venture, MAC ENERGY. McGregor, known for his financial acumen both inside and outside the Octagon, aims to carve out a unique space for his product.
McGregor has a proven track record of business success, particularly in the beverage industry. Following the significant success of his Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey and his involvement with Forged Irish Stout, he has now set his sights on the energy drink sector.
The announcement of MAC ENERGY was made at the Beverage Forum 2026 in California. McGregor offered a glimpse of the product on social media, showcasing various flavors and featuring boxing star Ryan Garcia.
MAC ENERGY’s Unique Selling Proposition
Conor McGregor took to X (formerly Twitter) to articulate what makes MAC ENERGY stand out in the competitive $90 billion global energy drink market. He emphasized that his drink is the first and only of its kind to contain 5 grams of BHB (beta-hydroxybutyrate), a ketone known for its role in energy production.
McGregor highlighted that this specific BHB formulation is patented, giving MAC ENERGY a distinct advantage that competitors cannot easily replicate. He stated, “It is the ONLY energy drink with 5 grams of the ketone ‘BHB’ inside… I also have this ketone patented. Meaning, while all the sleeping giants in the category have just been caught off guard by the MAC, they can do nothing about it!”
This innovative approach, leveraging a patented ingredient, is McGregor’s strategy to differentiate MAC ENERGY from established brands in the market.
