Walker Shares Insight on Ankalaev’s Skills

MMA News

UFC light heavyweight fighter Johnny Walker recently offered his perspective on his opponent, Magomed Ankalaev, highlighting the Russian`s technical prowess and professional standing in the sport.

Walker described Ankalaev as “a very technical fighter” and a “high-level professional,” adding that Ankalaev performed admirably in his bout against Pereira. Reflecting on their initial encounter, Walker admitted that at that point in his career, he “wasn’t at that level to be able to beat him.” He elaborated on their rematch, explaining that his defeat stemmed from “one small mistake.”

“In the rematch,” Walker stated, “I made the wrong move — after the kick, I should have pulled my leg back [but I left it in front]. As a result, Magomed caught my leg and knocked me out.”

Walker concluded his assessment by firmly stating his belief that Ankalaev is indeed “a championship-level fighter.”
