Rafa García Outlasts Alexander Hernandez in Electrifying Battle – UFC Vegas 116 Highlights

MMA News

Rafa García showcased a commanding performance against Alexander Hernandez at UFC Vegas 116, ultimately securing a unanimous decision win.

The initial round saw much of the action taking place on the feet. However, García seemed to gain momentum with a successful high-crotch takedown, driving Hernandez forcefully to the mat.

Following a closely contested first round, both fighters returned to their corners with visible facial injuries. Undeterred, they resumed their intense striking exchange in the second. García appeared to gain the advantage in the latter part of the round, pushing Hernandez back and inflicting damage to his nose, nearly securing another takedown before the bell.

Likely trailing on the scorecards, Hernandez came out aggressively in the third round. García, however, quickly neutralized his offense, clinching Hernandez against the fence and executing a brief takedown. Hernandez managed to break free with just over a minute remaining, but he was unable to land the decisive knockout blow he needed.

The fight went to the judges’ scorecards, where García was declared the winner, marking his seventh career victory inside the Octagon.

Official Result: Rafa García defeated Alexander Hernandez via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).
