Sports News

PAOK Thessaloniki, bolstered by the financial backing of billionaire Telis Mistakidis, is showing considerable ambition. Despite Nick Calathes being 37 years old, the club is reportedly unfazed. According to Sport 24, the Greek-American player has been offered a two-year contract valued at a total of €1.8 million.

Nicholas “Nick” William Calathes has a storied past, including eight seasons with Panathinaikos. He subsequently played for Barcelona, Fenerbahçe, and Monaco, but struggled to establish a consistent place at these clubs. This past season, he primarily played for Partizan Belgrade, averaging 4.3 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.5 rebounds.

Calathes’ paternal grandparents, of Greek descent, emigrated to Florida. Nick Calathes has represented Greece internationally since obtaining his Greek passport in June 2008.
