New Jersey Devils Set Sights on Bringing Anton Silayev to North America

NHL News

The New Jersey Devils are reportedly making plans to bring their 2024 first-round draft pick, Anton Silayev, to North America. Silayev, selected 10th overall and currently playing for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL, is expected to sign an entry-level contract with the Devils once his KHL season concludes.

According to recent reports, Silayev’s KHL contract is set to expire at the end of the current season. The organization’s goal, in conjunction with Silayev’s camp, is for the towering 6’7″ defenseman to join the Devils and participate in their development camp, typically held in late June or early July, following the NHL Draft.

While the process of signing an entry-level contract and navigating the necessary visa procedures to come to North America is acknowledged to be complex and potentially time-consuming, all indications point towards Silayev joining the Devils. The exact timing of his arrival will depend on the length of Torpedo’s playoff run and the subsequent visa application timeline. The Devils are committed to bringing him over and integrating him into their system as soon as feasible, aiming for his presence at development camp.
