Marine Johannès Signs Multi-Season Deal with Unrivaled League

Sports News

The announcement came swiftly! Just 24 hours after confirming her departure from Galatasaray, the native of Lisieux has made her decision and will not be returning to Europe anytime soon. Her arrival in the private American league, Unrivaled, where she has signed a multi-season contract, was officially confirmed this Monday.

She will be joining prominent figures in women’s basketball such as Breanna Stewart, Brittney Griner, and Kelsey Plum. Highly popular in the United States, the Normandy-born player will be the second Frenchwoman to play in the league, following Dominique Malonga. While her team has not yet been announced, it’s already known that this move will greatly benefit her, as she is currently having her best season in the WNBA.

The reaction from the player herself:

‘I am incredibly excited to join Unrivaled next season! This is a unique opportunity to play alongside some of the best players in the world.’

Marine Johannès has signed a multi-year contract with Unrivaled. The two-time Olympic medalist is set to make her Unrivaled debut in Season 3. She stated, ‘I’ve heard so many great things about the league, and I can’t wait to be part of it, meet my new teammates, and experience everything.’
