Jack Della Maddalena, the recently crowned champion in the UFC`s welterweight division, offered his thoughts on his fight against Belal Muhammad.
The Australian competitor secured a unanimous decision victory over his American opponent in the main event of UFC 315, held on May 11 in Montreal, Canada.
Commenting on his performance and the bout, Della Maddalena stated:
“That`s how I saw the fight unfold; I feel fantastic. He brought the pressure, and I knew I needed to be strategic on my feet. Ideally, my striking would have been sharper, but sometimes that`s how it goes. Against a relentless wrestler like Belal who pushes the pace, fighting smart is crucial. With about 30 seconds remaining, I felt confident I had the win secured, but I still pushed for a late finish. Australia, we now have three champions!”
