Ilia Topuria, the former UFC featherweight champion, shared his thoughts on Alexander Volkanovski`s recent victory against Diego Lopez.
At UFC 314 in Miami, USA, Volkanovski, an Australian fighter, secured the vacant featherweight championship by defeating Brazil`s Lopez via unanimous decision in the main event.
Topuria, speaking with Joe Rogan, commented, “`Alex is an amazing fighter. I was very happy for him when he beat Lopez because he truly deserved the title.`”
It`s worth noting that Topuria vacated the featherweight title in February and announced his intention to compete in the lightweight division.
