Nando De Colo delivered an exceptional individual performance, yet his team, Fenerbahçe, ultimately suffered a defeat. De Colo’s stat line was remarkable: 26 points, shooting efficiently with 5/7 from two-point range, 3/6 from three-point range, and a perfect 7/7 from the free-throw line. He also contributed 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal, all accomplished in just 21 minutes and 40 seconds of play.
Despite De Colo’s brilliance, it was Maccabi Tel Aviv who secured the victory, improving their record to 16 wins and 16 losses. Maccabi is currently in formidable form, having won 6 of their last 7 games, which keeps their playoff hopes very much alive.
For Maccabi, several players stepped up to lead their team to victory. Roman Sorkin spearheaded the offense with 19 points, hitting 8 of his 11 two-point attempts. “We take it one game at a time, but we had an excellent first half, both offensively and defensively. We obviously knew they were a great team, very well-coached. They made a comeback and showed a lot of quality. We struggled for long periods in the second half. I think at times we tried to score in the wrong way, but I’m very happy with the win,” said Maccabi’s coach Oded Kattash after the game.
