Former UFC middleweight champion and current analyst Michael Bisping shared his views regarding a potential interim title bout between Khamzat Chimaev and Caio Borralho.
Discussing the possibility, Bisping strongly criticized the idea, calling it “madness.” He argued against the need for an interim belt, stating, “there should be no talk of an interim title.” Bisping defended reigning champion Dricus du Plessis, highlighting that he is an active fighter who sustained an injury after planning to compete in late June, adding that “injuries happen all the time.” According to Bisping, the only circumstance that would justify an interim title fight is if Du Plessis were facing surgery.
Bisping conveyed these thoughts on his YouTube channel.
