Brazilian international Antony has stated that his loan departure from Manchester United to join Real Betis ranks as the most significant and positive decision he has made in his career.
The 25-year-old forward, signed by United for a considerable £85.5 million fee, experienced a challenging two-year period at Old Trafford under the management of Erik ten Hag.

United`s hierarchy sanctioned a temporary move for Antony during the January transfer window. He chose the Seville-based club, managed by Manuel Pellegrini, a decision he now considers surprising but highly beneficial.
The temporary switch has evidently been successful for all parties involved. Real Betis is reportedly keen to secure his services for an additional season.
Antony and his representatives are scheduled to hold discussions with Manchester United regarding his long-term future at the club later this month.
Reflecting on his decision, Antony said: “The best decision I’ve ever made was coming to Betis.”
“I’m happy – and when I’m happy, things go well.
“It’s very early. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’m very happy here.”
Antony explained that gaining consistent playing time in a positive and enjoyable environment was a higher priority for him than seeking another major transfer.
He added: “Although I know how talented I am, I prioritised going where I knew I’d be happy, even though I had better offers.”
“It’s important to score goals and provide assists but being happy is even more important.”
Antony`s improved performances at Betis have reportedly drawn the attention of Atletico Madrid, who could potentially make a move this summer. This aligns with reports suggesting United is open to selling the player.

Speculation in the media indicates that Real Betis might need to offer between £34 million and £43 million to make the winger`s move permanent.
Meanwhile, Manchester United`s captain, Bruno Fernandes, could also become the subject of transfer speculation.
The Portuguese playmaker is reportedly a target for clubs in Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal rumoured to have offered a significant three-year deal worth £65 million per season.
Fernandes has not yet publicly responded to these reports, and Manchester United is reportedly keen to retain their influential star player.

These potential transfer dealings come as Manchester United is reportedly planning a significant squad overhaul during the summer, with intentions to offload at least 10 players.
Players widely expected to depart include Jonny Evans, Tom Heaton, Christian Eriksen, and Victor Lindelof, largely due to contracts expiring or a lack of guaranteed future roles.
United also aims to secure permanent transfers for players like Jadon Sancho (who spent time on loan) and potentially Marcus Rashford, with the goal of generating funds to invest in strengthening the attacking options.
Midfielder Casemiro is another high-profile player who is expected to be made available for transfer as the club seeks to rebuild the squad and balance finances.
