Gabby Williams, a prominent figure in the WNBA with seven seasons under her belt playing for Chicago and Seattle, has signed with the Golden State Valkyries. Her impressive career includes being named to the WNBA All-Defensive First Team in 2025 and becoming the first French player selected for the All-Star Game. During her tenure with Seattle, Williams achieved career-best averages in points (11.6), assists (4.2), steals (2.3), and free throw percentage (85.3%). Her exceptional defensive prowess was highlighted by leading the league in steals per game with 2.3.
“For a player of Gabby’s caliber to choose us in our second year is just incredible,” stated Ohemaa Nyanin, General Manager of the Valkyries. “She’s world-class. One of the best defenders in the world, a WNBA All-Star, and a player that elevates the game for everyone around her. Honestly, what I’m most excited about is her personality. Gabby is deeply rooted in the Bay Area, and she’s coming home (Note: she is originally from Nevada). The community is going to love her, and I think she’s going to love being here.”
Williams, who also recently won the Turkish Championship in 2026 with Fenerbahçe, is set to compete in the EuroLeague Final 6 with Fenerbahçe this week before joining Golden State. She is also expected to represent France at the World Cup this summer.
