According to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, the promotion`s leadership has shown interest in potentially arranging a fight between current lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and top welterweight contender Belal Muhammad.
Speaking on his widely popular podcast, Rogan shared details from a conversation he had with UFC President Dana White. Rogan explained that White discussed certain matchmaking challenges. “Dana White told me about the problems with the fight organization,” Rogan stated, quoting White. “And he specifically talked about what would happen if Belal won. There was talk about Islam fighting Belal.”
This exchange suggests the UFC is evaluating potential high-profile matchups, possibly even across different weight classes, for its key athletes like Makhachev.
