Aljamain Sterling, the former UFC bantamweight champion, has voiced his opinion that at this juncture, Islam Makhachev has already surpassed the career achievements of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Sterling elaborated on his viewpoint: “In my opinion, Islam is one of the greatest lightweights of all time. I believe he surpasses Khabib largely due to his activity level. While some might consider Khabib wasn`t the most active, he had a total of 13 or 14 fights within the UFC. Islam, I believe, already has more fights. However, the main factor, in my view, is that he`s surpassed him through a series of victories over high-caliber opponents on his path to winning the title, and then against the fighters he has successfully defended the title against.”
