The sports streaming platform Skweek, owned by FedCom Media and Aleksej Fedorycsev (who also owns AS Monaco basket), is in the midst of a major crisis. Having ceased broadcasting Euroleague and Eurocup a month ago and now offering no content whatsoever, the company is grappling with severe financial difficulties that are directly impacting its employees.
Skweek’s staff have publicly denounced an “untenable” situation, stating they have not received any salaries for over four months. This prolonged absence of payment has plunged employees into unacceptable financial and personal precarity, especially given that the company, despite having no real activity, has not yet been placed into collective insolvency proceedings.
Employees attribute this deadlock directly to the inaction and decisions of the management. This crisis unfolds as Skweek has previously faced legal condemnations for failing to meet contractual obligations, notably in disputes with ASVEL and 21 Production.
The current situation is critical, characterized by:
- No salaries having been paid for four months.
- No credible communication or concrete solutions having been provided by management.
- Significant debts to social security and tax authorities, jeopardizing employees’ fundamental rights.
Faced with this dire situation, Skweek employees are immediately demanding full payment of their overdue salaries, the immediate initiation of collective proceedings appropriate to the company’s situation, and complete transparency regarding its financial state. They have warned that, in the absence of a swift response, they will pursue all necessary actions, including ongoing legal and media efforts, to assert their rights and publicly hold those responsible accountable.
According to reports from L’Équipe, some employees have already initiated legal action before employment tribunals (Prud’hommes), while others have contacted the labor inspectorate.
