Former interim UFC featherweight champion, Yair Rodriguez, has announced his ambition to challenge Alexander Volkanovski, the current undisputed titleholder, in his upcoming fight.
While acknowledging fan interest in a potential bout with Diego Lopez, Rodriguez stated, “To satisfy the fans, a fight with Diego Lopez would be worthwhile. However, my priorities have shifted, and my focus is now firmly set on securing a title fight against Volkanovski in my next appearance. I am certain that I can avenge my previous loss and claim the championship in a rematch.”
Rodriguez`s confidence follows his recent victory over Patricio Freire at UFC 314 in Miami, USA, on April 13, where he won by unanimous decision.
