Ravel Morrison Targets Shock Man Utd Return

Football News

Ravel Morrison is hoping for a surprising return to Manchester United.

Once a highly-touted prospect from the Red Devils` academy, he was expected to become a key first-team player but didn`t meet those predictions.

He ultimately departed the club in 2012, following off-field issues and several injuries, before joining Premier League side West Ham.

Since then, his career has seen spells as a free agent with Derby, Sheffield United, and Middlesbrough, along with two loan periods at QPR.

In September, Morrison joined his 14th club, Precision FC in Dubai, marking another turn in his varied career. He has played 20 games and scored nine goals for them.

However, the 32-year-old, originally from Wythenshawe like Marcus Rashford, is now focused on potentially returning to Carrington, the training ground where he started.

During an appearance on the Undr the Cosh podcast, Morrison stated: “I now have my B license, which I obtained this past summer.”

He added: “I want to get into some kind of coaching after I finish playing. That would be great. I`d love to return to United!”

Former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson famously described Morrison as possessing “as much natural talent as any youngster we ever signed.”

Despite this praise, he only made three senior appearances for Manchester United after debuting against Wolves in October 2010.

However, his time at the club didn`t progress as hoped, and Ferguson later commented: “The boy had a good heart. He was just beaten by his background.”

Before moving to Dubai, Morrison`s career included stints in the USA (D.C. United), Netherlands (ADO Den Haag), Sweden (Ostersunds), Mexico (Atlas), Italy (Lazio), and eight different clubs throughout England and Wales.

He represented England at various youth levels (U16 to U21) before switching his senior international allegiance to Jamaica in 2020.
