Pimblett Eyes Gaethje Clash, Sees Title Shot

MMA News

Ranked UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has publicly stated his intention to fight fellow top lightweight, Justin Gaethje.

Pimblett firmly believes that defeating “The Highlight” would solidify his position as the rightful next challenger for the UFC lightweight championship. He identified Gaethje as a primary target for his next bout, suggesting that the potential matchup could occur as early as October in Abu Dhabi, contingent on Gaethje agreeing to the fight.

Drawing confidence from his previous performance, Pimblett expressed optimism about his chances against Gaethje. “If I beat Gaethje, I will become the next title challenger,” Pimblett stated. “Justin could be my next opponent. Considering what I did with Chandler, I think I can beat Gaethje.”
