Ovechkin started the 2024-25 season with 853 goals and has currently reached 888. The excitement surrounding this pursuit has made Ovechkin a popular focus in NHL betting, with numerous related prop bets available.

Ovechkin scored on a rebound late in the first period against the Flyers. This was his 52nd career goal against Philadelphia, making him second all-time against the Flyers, surpassing Mario Lemieux.

Ovechkin scored against the Ottawa Senators for the second time in two weeks, this time with a power-play goal in the third period. It was his NHL-record 318th career power-play goal.
