Aix-Maurienne secured a thrilling victory over Orléans in the final seconds of overtime, largely thanks to their exceptional three-point shooting, hitting 18 out of 36 attempts. Xavier Dusell was particularly effective with an impressive 8/11 from beyond the arc, while Corentin Falcoz led all scorers with 35 points (5/7 two-pointers, 6/9 three-pointers, and 7/8 free throws).
Orléans coach Lamine Kébé shared his reflections after the hard-fought match:
“In the first half, we were far below our defensive standards, making significant errors. Aix had incredible shooting accuracy tonight, but we allowed it by giving them rather simple shots, especially to their key shooters. Despite this, we still had opportunities to win this game. It’s another match where we lose by just two points. There’s a great deal of disappointment because the players put in a tremendous effort, especially given our reduced rotation in the perimeter sector with Lionel Kouadio’s absence, Siriman Kanouté’s suspension, and Ilane Fibleuil’s injury during the game.”
Regarding potential roster changes, Kébé added, “A medical replacement? If we find the right profile to cover for Lionel, we will do it. But many things are not within my control. And for now, we haven’t been able to sign a player.”
