Oli McBurnie has surprised fans with his impressive Spanish speaking ability, just months after his transfer to Las Palmas.
The ex-Sheffield United player moved from the Premier League last summer to play for the La Liga team.

McBurnie, who represents Scotland internationally and grew up in Leeds, has clearly made an effort to integrate into his new environment since joining Las Palmas.
His Spanish fluency was showcased in a TV interview following their 3-1 victory over Getafe on Saturday.
After scoring his team`s second goal, McBurnie conducted the entire post-match interview in Spanish, impressing the interviewer.
The 28-year-old commented in Spanish: "It's a very good day for us. We know we need more wins and points. It's a great day for us, now we need more."
"I want more goals. This year is proving challenging for me, and I want to contribute more to the team."
Fans quickly expressed their admiration for McBurnie`s dedication to learning the language.
One fan on X exclaimed: "Is that really him speaking?!"
Another commented: "This is truly impressive from @oli_mcburnie. He has integrated seamlessly into Spanish life, both on and off the field."
A third added: "It`s fantastic to see him succeeding and silencing those who doubted him."
McBurnie`s professional journey began at Bradford City, with a breakthrough season at Swansea in 2018.
As a striker, he scored 22 goals in 42 Championship matches, which led to a £20 million transfer to Sheffield United in the Premier League.
Oli`s Spanish interview in full
Q: Ollie, speaking in Spanish with us… finally this victory.
McBurnie: It's a very good day for us. We know we need more wins and points. It's a great day for us, now we need more.
Q: Today, a goal and a win. You mentioned you were sad because your goal previously didn`t count for anything.
McBurnie: Yes, definitely. I want more goals. This year is difficult for me. I want to help the team, but today is good with goals for me and Fabio (Silva). We won and it's all incredible, and today is for the fans.
Q: And this win helps everyone keep believing?
McBurnie: Definitely. We know we need more wins. Today is only one game and only three points. It's good, but now more and tomorrow more work. We want more wins, more points, come on!
Q: Ollie, congratulations for the win, and your Spanish.
McBurnie: Thanks a lot, I'm trying!
McBurnie`s time at Sheffield United didn`t fully live up to expectations, as he scored 29 goals in 159 appearances.
Last summer, he moved to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, signing a three-year contract.
McBurnie experienced a goal drought for the first 11 games of 2025.
However, he has now scored in two consecutive games, including his recent goal against Getafe.
