The Oklahoma City Thunder have proudly unveiled their latest City Edition uniforms, marking a stylish way for the team to continue their journey in the NBA. These new uniforms are not just about aesthetics; they serve as a profound tribute to the Native and Indigenous cultures that are intricately woven into Oklahoma`s unique identity and community spirit. Historically, Oklahoma has been home to an impressive 67 American Indian tribes.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the new attire during the franchise`s annual Native American Heritage Night on November 19, when the Thunder face the Sacramento Kings.

The design of these uniforms draws inspiration from the previous turquoise City Edition concept from the 2018-19 season, which also celebrated the state`s Native American communities. While adopting a darker shade of blue this time, the new jerseys retain the distinctive interlocking geometric shapes that form “OKC” prominently in the center.

Intricate details abound: diagonal, water-like patterns flow across the uniforms, symbolizing the Oklahoma River and unifying the jersey`s colors. The waistband features a pattern of expanding squares, and a discreet turtle emblem is cleverly hidden on the right side leg of the shorts.

Further enriching the design, eleven geometric stars are strategically placed on the sides of both the jersey and shorts, intended to “carry forward stories passed through generations.” A striking sunset-colored sash wraps around the shoulder and shorts leg, serving as a powerful homage to the enduring resilience of Oklahoma`s tribal nations.

Complementing the new uniform, the Thunder will also introduce a dedicated alternate court design for their “city night” themed games. Beginning December 5, every Friday home game will be designated as a “City Night,” during which the team will proudly wear the City Edition uniforms on this specially designed court.
