Murphy: “I’m Ready to Face Anyone in the Top 5 This July”

MMA News

British welterweight fighter Leron Murphy has expressed his thoughts on his recent victory over Josh Emmett and shared his aspirations for his next fights.

Reflecting on the Emmett fight, Murphy stated, “I had to be cautious and stick to my game plan. Emmett is a dangerous opponent with significant knockout power, which I always had to be mindful of. At this elite level of competition, mistakes are costly. Having been knocked down in my previous fight, I was determined to avoid that happening again.”

Looking towards his future in the welterweight division, Murphy declared, “Naturally, a title shot is my ultimate goal. However, in the meantime, I am willing to take on any challenger ranked within the top 5, or even top 3. Put anyone in front of me, and I will be prepared to fight in July. Let`s make it happen. I am eager to extend my winning streak and earn my opportunity to compete for the championship.”

It is important to recall that Murphy secured a unanimous decision victory against Emmett. This win occurred in the main event of UFC on ESPN 65, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
