Reports circulating for several days now appear to be confirmed: Greek coach Vassilis Spanoulis has tendered his resignation from AS Monaco. Reportedly, frustrated by the ongoing financial and human crisis plaguing the Principality club, Spanoulis has stepped down, and a struggling AS Monaco is in no position to retain him.
The 43-year-old Greek basketball icon joined Monaco in November 2024. Under his leadership, AS Monaco achieved significant success, reaching the Euroleague final and securing the French Championship title in 2025. Spanoulis will continue to serve as the head coach of the Greek national team.
