UFC featherweight contender Max Holloway recently shared his candid assessment of his former opponent, Ilia Topuria.
“While it`s undeniable that he has defeated some big names, if you look closely, the circumstances aren`t always straightforward. Especially when recalling his fight with Volkanovski – considering what Alex had just been through before that bout, it was truly `madness`.”
“People often just look at the names and not the records or the full context. They focused on Alex being the champion. Then there are victories over me, and Charles Oliveira, who, at the time of their fight, had only one recent win. Ultimately, I think it often comes down to capitalizing on the right moments and facing the necessary high-profile names.”
