Sports News

The New York Liberty’s training camp roster for the upcoming season features a blend of returning players and exciting international acquisitions. Among the notable new additions are French guards Marine Fauthoux and Pauline Astier, both recognized for their achievements in European basketball.

The training camp lineup includes six players from the 2025 roster (Fiebich, Gardner, Ionescu, Johannès, Jones, Stewart) and three who have previously played for the Liberty (Allen, Han, Laney-Hamilton). The team also welcomes German star Satou Sabally, a three-time All-Star and member of the 2023 All-WNBA First Team, and Spanish player Raquel Carrera, a member of the 2025 EuroBasket All-Star 5. Joining them are Pauline Astier, the 2023 Euroleague Best Young Player, and Marine Fauthoux, the 2022 Euroleague Best Young Player and a silver medalist at the 2024 Olympics. Neither of the French players has previously played in the WNBA.

Marine Johannès, Derin Erdoğan, and Breanna Stewart are scheduled to join the training camp next week, following their participation in the Euroleague Final Six. Leonie Fiebich and Raquel Carrera will arrive in New York after completing their current season with Valencia Basket in Spain.

The New York Liberty’s training camp is set to commence on Monday, April 20th, at the Barclays Center. The preseason schedule includes two exhibition games: a home game on Saturday, April 25th, against the Indiana Fever at the Barclays Center, followed by an away game against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, May 3rd.
