Manchester United Tracking ‘Serbian Jude Bellingham’ Midfielder

Football News

Manchester United scouts are reportedly monitoring a promising Serbian teenager, Ognjen Ugresic, a 17-year-old midfielder from Partizan Belgrade. The young player has drawn comparisons to prominent figures such as Paul Pogba and Jude Bellingham.

The Red Devils` search for fresh talent to bolster their attack, which is on track for its lowest league goal tally in over three decades, has led them to observe the player in Belgrade. Reports suggest United representatives have recently attended his games.

Ugresic made his first senior start in the Serbian Super League in early April and scored his debut top-flight goal in a recent 3-1 win over Radnicki Nis. If he continues his impressive development, he could soon become a target for major European clubs.

His agent, Ostoja Stjepanovic, a former Macedonia international, confirmed that there is indeed interest from several significant clubs, including some in Serie A. However, Stjepanovic believes it is still too early for Ugresic to leave Partizan.

Stjepanovic stated, “I can confirm that the media reports are based on reality; there is interest in him from several sides. Not only Manchester United scouts are following his development, there are also teams from Serie A. However, it is too early for him to change his environment now, because in the coming seasons he should get the opportunity to play for Partizan and further develop and progress.”

While protective of his client, the agent did not hesitate to draw parallels between Ugresic`s style and that of Bellingham and Pogba. He described Ugresic`s technique as exceptional, noting his surprising speed despite his height. Stjepanovic highlighted the player`s intelligence, good vision, and ability to contribute effectively from a position behind the strikers.

He acknowledged Ugresic`s significant development under coach Srdan Blagojevic but reiterated the need for patience. Stjepanovic concluded by expressing his belief in the young player`s immense potential, mentioning the considerable sacrifices made by Ugresic and his parents, including daily three-hour round trips for training, to help him reach the Partizan first team.
