Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold has publicly criticized the promotion, alleging that the organization is making extensive efforts to fast-track Paddy Pimblett toward becoming the Lightweight Champion.
“It seems to me they are doing everything to give little Paddy a title shot,” Rockhold stated. “I am annoyed by fighters who think that an interim title means something… They are just giving Paddy the most favorable fights to make him a champion.”
Rockhold expressed significant frustration with the lightweight prospect`s rapid ascent, suggesting the UFC is strategically selecting favorable opponents to boost Pimblett’s record and status.
The report concluded by noting the promotion`s apparent commitment to the British fighter, mentioning that in his next outing, Pimblett is scheduled to meet Justin Gaethje, with the interim Lightweight Championship title supposedly on the line in that bout.
