A monumental figure in European basketball, Svetislav Pesic, is set to conclude his illustrious coaching career. Having guided numerous clubs and national teams across the continent since 1982, the Serbian tactician confirmed his plans to retire this summer, following the completion of the current season with Bayern Munich.
“I know people don’t believe me when I say I’m going to stop. But after this season, that will truly be enough. I have a beautiful house in Barcelona, where part of my family lives. I also want to spend more time in my city, Pirot. I want to live life in a different way.”
Among his most significant achievements as a coach is the historic triple crown he secured with FC Barcelona in 2003. Furthermore, he famously led Yugoslavia to the World Championship title in 2002, a year prior to his Barcelona success.
