The Los Angeles Lakers unveiled their Statement Edition uniform for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season on Monday.
Returning to a purple base reminiscent of their 2022-23 design, the new Statement Edition uniform features notable changes. Unlike the earlier version with gold text and dark numbers, this iteration uses clean white font for the team name and numbers, highlighted by a gold border.
Significant details include purple and white collar trim. A notable change is the side panels, which swap black accents for a purple, gold, and white design featuring `Los Angeles Lakers` lettering.
The phrase “`Leave a Legacy`” is printed above the jock tag, and the number `17` appears on the back of the neck, commemorating the team`s 17 NBA championships.
For the first time on a primary uniform, the team`s classic `LA` logo will be placed on both sides of the shorts, providing a symmetrical final touch.
According to a team news release, the Statement Edition jersey is part of a full uniform set for the season, which also includes the gold Icon Edition, white Association Edition, and the yearly City Edition uniforms.
