During the match, observant fans noticed that the squad numbers on the England jerseys were positioned incorrectly.

Instead of the usual central location, the numbers were printed beneath the Nike logo on the left side of the shirt.

Normally, these numbers are placed in the middle, flanked by the iconic Nike swoosh and the England team badge.

Social media users questioned this change, with one fan asking why the numbers had shifted from their usual position seen during the Euros.

Pat Frost, the Three Lions` kitman, responded to the query, taking responsibility for the error and confirming that the correct placement would be restored for the upcoming game against Latvia.

Frost explained that in the initial shirt printing, he mistakenly placed the numbers in the wrong spot and had to continue with the same placement for the rest of the batch.

He assured fans that the numbers would be back in their standard central position for Monday`s game and acknowledged the fan`s keen observation.

Addressing another observation, Frost clarified that the use of designated squad numbers for each international window, as opposed to assigning numbers 1 to 11 to the starting lineup, is more efficient for the kit department for advance shirt preparation. However, he noted that this decision is not made by his department.
