Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa, 18, Joins Roanne from Bourg for Season Finale

Sports News

Young basketball player Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa, 18, is making a transfer from JL Bourg to Chorale de Roanne for the remainder of the sporting season. The son of former Cameroonian international Joachim Ekanga-Ehawa, Juwan is a rising star in basketball, an U18 3×3 international, and a pivotal player for JL Bourg’s U21 Espoirs Elite team, where he averaged an impressive 19 points in 29 minutes and 30 seconds per game. This strategic move, approved by his formative club, aims to bolster Roanne’s rotation at the shooting guard position (post 2), following Jahvon Blair’s shoulder relapse.

Zoran Cvjetkovic, Roanne’s sports director, expressed his satisfaction with the new arrival: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome a promising talent like Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa to Roanne for this end of season push. He is undeniably one of the most effective players in the Espoirs Elite championship, and we are convinced that he will bring us the necessary energy to approach the final sprint of the championship in the best possible conditions. Rather than opting for an American player, we prioritized a more local profile to complete our squad. We were specifically looking for a player immediately available, and crucially, one possessing a combative mindset, capable of seamlessly integrating and asserting himself within an already strong and competitive group. This truly represents a mutually beneficial opportunity for both Juwan and the club.”
